This "E" Launch System can support a larger rocket and includes Estes E-Pad and E-Launch Controller. It is designed for larger low-power rockets requiring 3/16" maxi rod, or for smaller mid-power rockets requiring 1/4" launch rod *. This pad includes a 1/4 in. (6 mm) launch rod, but can accommodate 3/16" (Maxi) launch rod (not included). Controller comes complete with safety key and 30 ft of cable.
Requires four AA alkaline batteries (not included)

* 1/8" launch rod cannot be used with this launch pad.

Included 1/4" launch rod can only be used with few Pro Series rockets and you most likely need to add 3/16 launch rod if you do not have one.

This system is recommended if:

• You getting a rocket that can be launched on D and E black powder (not composite) motors.

For most rockets ou will also need 3/16 launch rod if you do not have one.

This system is NOT recommended if:

• You getting a rocket that can be launched on D and E motors and requires a Maxi-Rod. Upgrade to E-Maxi-System, unless you have the Maxi-Rod already or it is provided with the Set.
• You just want a better system to fly your low-power rockets with A to C motors. This launch pad will not allow you to launch most A-C rockets.
• You plan to launch rockets with 24mm composite motors or reloads (D-F) in the near future. Upgrade to Mantis System, or get the E-Pad and Interlock Controller separately.
• You plan to launch mid-power rockets with any 29mm composite motors in the near future. Upgrade to Mantis System.
