Estes has issued a service bulletin covering specific production lots of these motors, but also states that “the affected products pose no safety concerns if the National Association of Rocketry safety code guidelines are followed.” Field experience with these motors shows CATO (catastrophic failure) rates in line with what has been observed in recent years.
