C-BOND Extra Thin is a very low viscosity general purpose instant/cyanoacrylate glue. This glue comes with an anti-clog cap and has a 2-4 second cure time. It bonds most substrates instantly. C-BOND Extra Thin is appropriate for fitting smooth surfaces. It can bond rubber, plastics, metals, and wood.
Parts requiring bonding should be assembled and kept close without any stress. Cyanoacrylate glue is the industrial name for what is commonly known as “Crazy Glue” or “Super Glue”. In fact, the term cyanoacrylate glue generally describes quick-bonding super glues. They can be used to combine anything from metal to plastic and even human skin. The bonding activity of the cyanoacrylates occurs when the esters react with water to form polymers that bond to materials with which they come into contact. The polymerization reaction occurs very quickly, resulting in strong bonds that form almost instantaneously. The bonding action of cyanoacrylates depends on the presence of either alkaline (basic) sites or absorbed water on the surface of the substrate. Glass has an alkaline surface and bonds very rapidly. Many rubbers and plastics contain additives that can migrate to the surface and initiate polymerization.
- Household repairs, bonding close fitting parts, making toys, crafts, taxidermy usage, stone inlays, penturning, wood turning finish and musical instrument repair.
- Extremely fast curing, applied as liquids, cured by a chemical reaction, activated by alkaline materials, and form hard polymer materials after curing
- Our C-Bond products are durable, blemish resistant, has a consistent thickness, cures quickly, is water and impact resistant.
- Extra thin C-BOND can be used to consolidate porous, or rotted wood or other substrates.
- It works great for repairing tiny chips and cracks in stones, ceramic, cabochon, and plastics. The cure time is super fast, and it is the perfect extension for tiny cracks and penetrating soft wood to reinforce it.
- The general-purpose cyanoacrylate line of CEC Corp is available in 3 different viscosities.
